Course / Provision Overview:
The Skills for Jobs course is a voluntary course that offers customers the opportunity to improve their Numeracy and Literacy skills in the following areas:
- The provision will develop the functional literacy (reading and writing) and functional numeracy levels of unemployed and economically inactive customers with literacy and/or numeracy needs.
- Providing literacy (reading and writing) and numeracy provision for unemployed and economically inactive first and second language speakers with Pre- Entry literacy and numeracy needs and who will be progressing to Entry Level One standards as a maximum. These customers may have literacy, numeracy and employability skills needs.
- Providing literacy (reading and writing) and numeracy provision for unemployed and economically inactive first and second language speakers with literacy and numeracy needs at above Entry 1 and no employability skills needs who will be progressing to a higher levels in literacy and numeracy in line with customer needs up to level 2 as a maximum. Skills for Life learning to be delivered in a relevant context to support access to employment.
