An Apprenticeship Framework usually consists of a relevant National Vocational Qualification [NVQ], a technical certificate which covers knowledge and understanding as well as key skills qualifications in communication and in application of number.
ResCare Europe is able to assist in the recruitment of young people for company vacancies, and apprentices can be employed on a short-term contract (12 months) with a minimum wage of £80 per week. ResCare Europe will apply a service charge of £12.50 per week plus VAT, which is in line with the requirements for employers to contribute towards apprenticeship programmes.
ResCare Europe also offers apprenticeships to people who are already employed and who have the support of their employers. An assessor provides all the advice and guidance necessary to enable a portfolio of evidence to be built up to demonstrate competence and achievement of qualifications. The assessor targets elements and units from the NVQ and key skills units to provide a detailed assessment plan which will give the customer all the details of the type and quantity of evidence needed to be produced to demonstrate competence.
A variety of assessment methods are selected to demonstrate competence, including work product evidence, personal statements, and/or witness testimonies, along with questions posed by the assessor. Observation of work tasks is also a selected method. The assessor visits the apprentice in the workplace every two to three weeks to provide continuous support during the programme.
Attendance to workshops in our professional training centre is required where the apprenticeship includes a technical certificate. Workshops usually run for a full day on three consecutive weeks, followed by on-line examinations.
Where additional support is required in numeracy and/or literacy, our specialist tutors provide it on a one-to-one basis in the workplace; or, if group interaction is required, we deliver development workshops to help embed key skills in the learning process through group activities and real-life scenarios. These workshops enable the customers to produce projects for their key skills relating to personal and/or work experiences.
